On 12 December, together with the University Centre of Mérida of the University of Extremadura, we presented a competition to design innovative packaging for one of our products. In this way, students from the second and third year of the Degree in Industrial Design can put their knowledge into practice and use their creativity to come up with new proposals.
This initiative, driven by our Open Innovation System, consists of several stages in which we will work together with the centre to achieve the best results. That is why we have started February by holding the first meeting with the students, with the aim of putting them in context and so that the SIA team and staff specialised in the product that is the object of this competition could explain first-hand the qualities and characteristics of the product and resolve any doubts related to it.
This event was the real starting point of the competition, from which the groups began to work on their proposals. In the following stages, they will work on them in depth, with constant monitoring by the company to guide them in the right direction, and it will be in May when the competition will be decided and we will know who the winning teams are. This joint activity between UEx and Inquiba will award two prizes: a first prize of 3,000€ and a second prize of 1,500€.
